Cinema in the City 2023: Free Outdoor Film Series in Akron

Close out summer with cinematic magic — under an open sky!

The Nightlight is thrilled to partner with Downtown Akron Partnership to present Cinema in the City, a free outdoor film series featuring beloved films, set against the backdrop of Downtown Akron.

With screenings at some of our favorite downtown locations, and with a diverse lineup of sensational films, Cinema in the City offers an opportunity for the Akron community to come together and experience cinematic magic under an open sky.

As Akron's non-profit independent cinema, The Nightlight is all about bringing our city together and making art house cinema more accessible for everyone. And Cinema in the City is no different — it’s about celebrating community, creating cherished memories, and immersing yourself in the world of film in the heart of Akron.

Cinema in the City offers an opportunity for the Akron community to come together and experience cinematic magic under an open sky.

Everyone’s invited — movie enthusiasts, families, friends — so we hope you’ll join us for some unforgettably fun evenings embracing the joy of storytelling and the power of shared cinematic moments!

⚠️ For each screening, make sure to dress warm, and please bring your own seating. Drinks will be available for purchase at each location.
