Cinema in the City 2024

Your Favorite Films. Under the Stars. For Free!

The Nightlight is thrilled to once again partner with Downtown Akron Partnership to present 2024’s Cinema in the City — our free outdoor film series featuring your favorite films, set against the backdrop of our incredible Downtown Akron.

An Invitation for Akron’s Community to Come Together and Enjoy the Magic of Cinema

We’ll be screening a diverse lineup of some of our favorite films in some of our favorite spots across downtown — so whether you’re a film lover, family, or group of friends, this series has something fun for everyone.

We hope you’ll join us for some beautiful summer evenings filled with beloved stories for FREE on the big screen!

⚠️ For each screening, make sure to dress warm, and please bring your own seating. Drinks will be available for purchase at each location.

ℹ️ For more information about the screenings, partner organizations, and the complete event schedule, feel free to contact us at info@nightlightcinema.com, subscribe to our newsletter, and connect with us on social media: @nightlightakron.

As Akron’s independent nonprofit cinema, The Nightlight is dedicated to connecting people through film. Cinema in the City extends that mission by offering a space to celebrate both community and the art of cinema, creating memorable experiences in the heart of Akron.
