JOBS, The Nightlight
We are looking for an addition to our team of passionate Show Leaders.
SHOWLEADER JOB DESCRIPTION:
Roger Ebert said, "A great movie acts like a window in our box of space and time. The more windows we open, the better."
At The Nightlight, the Show Leader opens those windows. The Nightlight is a small cinema, but we've got big ideas about film, art, culture, and creativity – and every one of those ideas requires an audience to explore them alongside us. As a Show Leader, you will be responsible for curating how the audience experiences The Nightlight in all facets of its operation: from ticketing, concessions, bar-tending, and facilities management to off-the-cuff movie chat, pre-show introductions, and leading group discussions.
Pay is $11/hr plus tips you may collect at the end of your shift. The weekly commitment would be 15-20 hours. (If you'd like more, let us know!)
Speak to audience members with a genuine, infectious enthusiasm for the Nightlight's upcoming films.
100% of this job is working with people, it requires excellent demonstrated customer service skills as demonstrated in resume /references.
Responsible for the overall appearance of the Cinema, every Show Leader is cleaning as directed each shift, we do not have a janitorial staff.
Operate our point of sale system for both tickets and concessions. Speed and friendliness are key.
Give verbal introductions to audiences before a film begins. No spoilers of course! But you should try to give an audience the information they need most to appreciate their experience.
Operate our technical equipment and screen films.

Occasionally lead post-film discussions and moderate Q&As.
Advocate for Nightlight membership plans.
Experience with data entry.
